Strategic Workforce Planner

Initial 3 month contract

Hybrid working from one of our Regional Centres.

Strategic Workforce Planning provides a unique perspective across the HR profession. As a Job Family, Strategic Workforce Planning provides the thought leadership and frameworks necessary to make a real difference at an organisational level. At its heart it is about planning for the future, working across the HR profession and wider organisational planning communities to deliver transformational change.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a skilled and efficient HMRC workforce.


Skills required:

  • Strategic workforce planning: able to describe skill proficiency and capacity in the future and determine the gap from today’s baseline.
  • Knowledge and experience of market demand, supply and workforce modelling options.
  • Gap analysis: able to articulate the gap between now and future a plot a plan to close this gap.
  • Comms/Engagement: able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders to discuss gaps and remediation activities.
  • Workforce planning tools: able to use workforce planning technology and tools to plot and track capability and capacity changes.
  • Data analytics: able to access and utilise multiple data sources to derive meaning and conclusions.
  • Able to analyse multiple data sets to formulate a single workforce picture.

Previous experience working in Public Sector/large organisation required.
