This is a key role in an interesting and high-profile part of the department which is at the forefront of disrupting Trade Based Money Laundering (TBML) and illicit finances globally.
This role will include;
• Supporting the International Illicit Finance and TBML Threat Lead in the development, implementation, and delivery of a coordinated strategic response to key domestic and international illicit finance risks both within HMRC, and across other law enforcement government agencies and international partners;
• Creating and delivering capability products to public and private sector partners both domestically and internationally to raise awareness of TBML and other illicit finances;
• Providing support to Senior Threat Strategy Advisors on domestic and international TBML projects;
• Secretariat duties for the Quarterly Public International TBML working group and the Multi-national Public Private Partnerships TBML working group;
• Strong drafting skills, and a willingness to learn how to prepare funding applications (under guidance if not already aware) into internal and external funding streams. Ensuring bids meet required criteria for consideration whilst also adhering to the aims and objectives of the TBML strategy; and
• Robustly manage spending and accurately forecast activity to ensure budgets for the financial year remain within tolerance. Complete regular reporting and act as the primary point of contact for internal and external finance teams to identify and resolve any emerging issues at the earliest opportunity.
Person specificationEssential Criteria • Demonstrate a high level of communication skills - both written and verbal, and using good interpersonal skills to influence others.
• A sound understanding of illicit finances and/or demonstrating a willingness to learn.
• Excellent computer skills including TEAMS, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
• Strong leadership skills and experience of working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Other Information• Must already hold or are willing to undergo a minimum of Security Check (SC) vetting status.
