Anonymous asked a question to Customer Compliance
Hi,
HMRC prides itself in family friendly policies. While I didn't train in CTU but did HMRC's graduate training programme a few years back, I worked full time and had two school going kids. I felt well supported and did not feel the need to go part time. However, I know colleagues in CTU who are part time and have successfully completed the training. I am aware that the first 12 weeks in CTU have to be full time due to training but this would be clear from the ad. If you get an offer, there is a direct email address to ask about your personal circumstances. Hope this helps and is reassuring.
Thank you Lubna. Could you tell me more about career progression for your colleagues that work part-time please? Thank you!!
There are opportunities in HMRC to progress your career as a part-time worker but each persons circumstances and ambitions are different, so very difficult to give an answer beyond the generic one. I work alongside a number of senior colleagues who have managed to raise children and made progress through the grades.
