If you're already a Civil Servant, you can access internal job vacancies, including data security roles at HMRC, through the Civil Service Jobs portal. To ensure you see both internal and external listings, please follow these steps:​

1. Sign in to your account at https://www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk
2. Navigate to Account details in the main menu.​
3. Answer "Yes" to the question: "Are you a civil servant or an employee of a public body?"​
4. Select your department from the list provided.​
5. Enter your work email address (e.g., ending in @gov.uk) to verify your account.​
6. Provide your line manager's email address.​
7. Agree to the terms and conditions and click Save.​
   

After completing these steps, you may receive a confirmation email to activate your account. If you don't have access to your work email, the system will email your line manager to validate your account, granting you access to internal job opportunities .​

Once your account is verified, you can search for internal vacancies by using keywords like "data security," "information security," or "cybersecurity."​

If you’re not already a Civil Servant, I’m afraid you’ll only be able to view roles that are open to external applicants.
