Mahmuda U. asked a question to Customer Compliance
My husband has undergrad degree in Academic and Finance from reputed University in Bangladesh. He is studying AAT level 2 and ACCA Taxation F6. has a bit lacking of practical experience but Knowledgeable in academic about UK tax and finance, interested to work in HMRC . how can he enter into hmrc?
also wanted to know about customer strategy and tax design and further details on Compliance case Worker or Tax specialist programme related job
The best thing he can do is sign up to Civil Service Jobs and set up an email alert for roles in HMRC as they pop up regularly throughout the year but the window for applying is short, so he must get his application in before the deadline as HMRC will not accept late applications.
Unfortunately, the Tax Specialist Programme opens once a year and this years window has closed so he will have to wait until Autumn 2026 to apply for the cohort to start in Autumn 2027.
Hi Mahmuda,
The Tax Specialist Programme (TSP) runs every year. The latest campaign has now closed, but as Mustafa mentioned, if you create an account on Civil Service Jobs and set up alerts, you’ll receive notifications when the next campaign opens.
Here’s the link for more details on the TSP: HMRC-Tax Specialist Programme | Civil Service Careers
The same applies for Compliance Caseworker Officer roles. Just a note: last time we advertised for these roles, Croydon, Manchester, and Nottingham were not included in the campaign round as these locations already had healthy reserve lists. Stratford was included, but we can’t confirm if it will be part of future campaigns. So again, the best approach is to Create an account - Civil Service Jobs - GOV.UK and set up job alerts, that way, you’ll know as soon as anything comes up.
For Customer Strategy & Tax Design and other HMRC roles, these are also advertised on the same Civil Service Jobs website. Setting alerts for keywords like “Tax Design” or “Customer Strategy” will help you catch these opportunities.
Hope that helps!
