The Change Manager plays a key role in ensuring change projects meet objectives on time, and on budget, by increasing employee adoption and usage. This role focuses on the people side of change including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organisational structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of, and minimise resistance to, the change. The Change Manager works to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilisation, and greater proficiency in the changes that impact colleagues, to increase benefit realisation, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of desired results and outcomes

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities throughout the change lifecycle. Leveraging change management methodology, process, and tools to create and implement a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Assess the change, conducting change impact assessments and analysis of change data, identifying key change related stakeholders, project characteristics, dependencies, opportunities, risks, and issues.
  • Support the development of the project design and implementation, including organisational design and definition of roles and responsibilities, ensuring that that those impacted by the change have an opportunity, at appropriate points in the change lifecycle, to contribute to the overall change requirements, solution, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Support the Project Management and Design team in ensuring that the required subject matter expert and end user support is secured and utilised effectively.
  • Act as a point of escalation for any change related opportunities, risks and issues raised within the project, and escalate risks and issues through the Change Management and Project structures as required.
  • Fully engage with, and advocate for, the CCG change lifecycle governance structures.
  • Support communication efforts, enabling the effective design, development, delivery, and management of key communications.
  • Support training efforts. Providing leadership for defining the training need, input, and insight to support the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness for change, and define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress (e.g., using the Prosci ADKAR model).
  • Support the definition and assessment of the overall readiness of the business area(s) to adopt the change, through definition and assessment of readiness criteria by co-leading (with the PM) Business Readiness Working Groups.
  • Supporting project go-live recommendations and decision making within the Business Readiness Implementation Group and/or Project Board.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies and plans to sustain the change and assure realisation of project outcomes and benefits.
  • Understand the wider change landscape and organisational context change is being delivered into, ensuring this understanding reflects in the change strategy implemented.
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing continuous improvement of the change management methodology, processes, and tools used by the broader change management community.

Essential Criteria:

  • Possess a solid understanding of how people move through change and the change lifecycle.
  • Experience of working in project delivery team as a change manager, with sound knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, including excellent active listening skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences, to establish and maintain strong relationships, and to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in ambiguous situations, and resilient and tenacious, with a drive to persevere and succeed.
  • An ability to problem solve, and identify problem root causes.
