HMRC are moving our existing SAP ECC6 platform (known as the Enterprise Tax Management Platform) to S4Hana. This requires a migration of circa 500 API integrations to HMRC’s strategic integration platform (known as the Hybrid Integration Platform). To support this crucial initial phase of the overall migration an Integration Manager is being sought to manage this first part of HMRC’s platform migration.

The Integration Manager is responsible for analysing, implementing, and managing integration solutions that enable seamless data and process flow across enterprise systems. This role ensures that integration strategies align with organisational architecture, security standards, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and maintain integration principles, patterns, and standards.

  • Ensure integration solutions comply with enterprise architecture and security frameworks.

  • Platform & Tooling Management

  • Oversee configuration and optimisation of integration platforms (e.g., SAP Integration Suite, Hybrid Integration Platform).

  • Manage migration from legacy systems to modern platforms (e.g., SAP PO to S/4HANA).

  • Governance & Compliance

  • Apply security-in-depth principles, including encryption and key management.

  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and organisational data protection policies.

  • Delivery & Testing

  • Lead performance, load, and functional testing for critical interfaces.

  • Manage system integration testing phases.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Oversee the production and management of technical specifications, operational runbooks, and integration catalogues.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for all integration processes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and delivery teams to align integration with business needs.

  • Represent integration priorities in governance forums.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns and API technologies.

  • Ability to manage complex migrations and ensure operational continuity.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
