        As the Service Request Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the Service Request Management Practice within HMRC's Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) Group. Reporting to the IT Service Desk Service Owner, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving the Service Request fulfilment processes, ensuring they are efficient, user-focused and aligned with ITIL 4 best practices.

        Working collaboratively across teams and with key stakeholders, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services that meet the needs of the business and its customers. This is an exciting opportunity to influence service excellence, manage resources across multiple teams, and ensure compliance with service standards, directly impacting service availability and customer satisfaction across HMRC.

        Key responsibilities
        • Provide visible leadership to develop and lead a high-performing Service Request Management practice, driving maturity and capability and ensuring alignment with ITIL 4 and organizational value streams.
        • Collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to ensure end-to-end service delivery and compliance with SLAs.
        • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the practice and across the organisation.
        • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex issues and supporting cross-practice collaboration (process).
        • Monitor and review practice success factors, metrics, and compliance, using data to drive performance improvements and report on outcomes.
        • Lead and coordinate matrix teams, supporting people development, career progression, and effective resource management.
        Essential Criteria
        • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Service Request Management or IT Service Management.
        • Demonstrable stakeholder management skills.
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
        • Experience in managing and motivating teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
        • Excellent communication skills, including presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
        Desirable Criteria
        • ITIL 4 Foundation certification or equivalent professional qualification.

        How to Apply

        Hybrid working at HMRC
