The Chief Digital Information Office delivers complex, highvalue products and platforms that support HMRC’s strategic goals and improve outcomes for millions of users. We work in multidisciplinary teams using modern Agile delivery practices to deliver services at scale and improve outcomes for users.
As a Senior Agile Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the effective delivery of complex, highrisk digital services across multiple teams or initiatives. You will shape delivery approaches, manage systemic risks and dependencies, and act as a primary escalation point for delivery challenges.
You will play a critical role in improving delivery confidence, capability and outcomes.
You will optimise delivery flow across complex delivery environments, ensuring teams can deliver value effectively, sustainably and at pace. Using expert Agile and Lean delivery practices, you will tailor approaches to context, coach Delivery Managers and teams, and work with senior stakeholders to resolve delivery challenges and manage tradeoffs.
Operating across programmes or portfolios, you will influence delivery strategy, stakeholder alignment and capability development. You will act as the main escalation point for delivery risks, issues and dependencies that sit beyond the control of individual teams, reporting to a Head of Delivery or equivalent senior leader.

You are an experienced delivery leader who thrives in complexity and ambiguity. You bring strong judgement, confidence and credibility, and are comfortable challenging ineffective practices while supporting teams to improve how they deliver.

You are an effective coach and mentor, able to develop Delivery Managers and teams, and you communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders. You balance pace, quality and sustainability, using evidence and experience to guide delivery decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Agile delivery across multiple complex product or platform teams.
Act as the primary escalation point for delivery risks, issues and dependencies.
Optimise delivery flow by identifying and addressing systemic blockers.
Coach and mentor Delivery Managers and multidisciplinary teams.
Shape and tailor Agile delivery approaches to suit context and complexity.
Influence senior stakeholders to improve delivery outcomes and confidence.
Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, performance and capability.
Essential Criteria
Proven experience leading Agile delivery in complex, highrisk digital environments.
Ability to coach and develop delivery capability in Delivery Managers and teams.
Experience managing crossteam and crossprogramme risks and dependencies.
Strong judgement in balancing delivery pace, quality and longterm sustainability.
Excellent communication skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
