Job description: Senior DevOps - AWS

Working in a product-centric development team, you'll bring your extensive DevOps skills and SRE awareness to build services and bring them into full production operation.

You'll work closely across the team to engineer for reliability, maintainability, performance and security and play a key role in diagnosing service issues and devising and implementing permanent enhancements to infrastructure and tooling.

Working with the wider DevOps and SRE community, you'll enhance and improve patterns, frameworks and tooling that keeps services reliable and operating at scale.

You will be a technical specialist and mentor to the developers in the team, working alongside them to deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop our existing AWS Corporate Cloud Platform using Terraform, Go and GitLab CI/CD.
Ensure Service, Security, Commercial and Operational design aspects are incorporated from the beginning of the delivery process
Maintenance of existing code base and CI/CD tooling.
Adopt an Agile approach to delivery where new features and improvements are delivered collaboratively and incrementally to realise business value at the earliest opportunity

Responsibilities

Essential:

• Knowledge of AWS Products and strong understanding of AWS concepts of Identity, Config, Data Perimeter strategy, Route 53, Networking and Security products (Security Hub/Guard Duty etc).
• Familiarity with software testing approaches
• Understanding of Serverless approaches
• GitLab/Terraform and Go skills
• Familiarity of Agile and its application to platform development

Desirable:

• STEM related degree, or equivalent technical certifications
• Experienced in using Container technologies
• Experience in mentoring junior engineers/developers
