We advise against using AI during your interview as this produces many duplicate answers. We are seeing lots of the same responses from applicants, as when you ask AI a question it’s likely to have been asked before, so the response can be the same each time. It is often obvious during an interview when candidates are reading answers from a screen if they've typed it into AI! It often generates ‘fluffy’ responses that sound impressive, but when reading into it there’s no actual substance, telling us what you did/how you achieved it/what the result was. We want to see your authentic self, therefore respond with your own experiences and examples that demonstrate your ability and behaviours asked for in the advert.

  • I would advise you to use AI to provide critical feedback, assessing your example against the criteria required. ask it to provide advice on what you need to change or improve on to align more to the job.

So you can use it to support but using it to create or write it for you will likely not give you the result you want.
