Two female colleagues sitting at a desk in an office space, chatting. Text: Permanent roles

Hi, I am currently studying Business Management (undergraduate) and I aspire to join HMRC. I would like to become a tax specialist and wondered if this would possible since I have not yet completed my studies? Any other options in the mean time? Thank you

Hi, you may wish to read up on our Tax Specialist Programme https://www.civil-service-careers.gov.uk/hmrc-tax-specialist-programme/ applications open next month. You would need to complete a degree for this however if you are in your last year you can apply.  You can also join HMRC in an entry level role and then work your way up into a tax profession.

Hi, thanks a lot for replying back. I am unfortunately not at that stage yet, although since you have mentioned alternative entry roles as a way of getting started with HMRC, is there any chance you could, please, direct me to these roles? Thank you.
