I apply for the Compliance caseworker as a British citizen and it say that i do not have the right to work so my application was unsuccessful.???I am shocked.

Anonymous asked a question to Chris ..

As a British citizen, I fully meet the criteria for the position of compliance caseworker after I think the declaration from the form application; it just appears: unfortunately, your application hasn't been successful, as you have not met the eligibility requirements for this job. Your application has been rejected because: ● You aren't free to take up duty and remain in the UK. We appreciate the time you have invested in your application and understand that this will be disappointing news. Thank you for the interest you have shown in HM Revenue and Customs. Can someone help me with this issue? Thank you

    Hello,

It is likely you have ticked an incorrect box. As per the advert "If you do make a mistake with your eligibility form, or have withdrawn yourself in error and need your application reinstated whilst the campaign is still live, please contact us via: compliancegrouprecruitmentqueries@hmrc.gov.uk – Use the subject line to insert appropriate wording for example – ‘Please re-open my application – 597R & vacancy closing date 21/10/2026." Contact them as soon as possible as it can only be reopened while the advert is live.
