Two female colleagues sitting at a desk in an office space, chatting. Text: Permanent roles

Our small church has received two letters from a company called Debt & Revenue Services based in Liverpool. They are saying we overdue in payment of £512.17 regarding PAY AS YOUR EARN. Our church is run by retired volunteers an no one is on a payroll.

We are a very small church with a small congregation, run by retired individuals who are not paid, only for expenses for running the Church.

Hello, it sounds like you may have received a scam letter. Take a look at https://www.gov.uk/search/all?keywords=scam on how to report and avoid scams. Alternatively you could contact HMRC for queries relating to Income Tax.

Thank you. I believe so, but it is worrying for our elderly leaders. I have spoken to the Fraud hotline and they have advised to speak to or forward to Income Tax.
