Anonymous asked a question to Daniel S.
I am interested in applying for the HMRC Tax Specialist Programme 2027. I am a Turkish citizen currently living in the UK and I have been granted refugee status in the UK, with the right to work. I have read the Civil Service nationality requirements, including the sections relating to Turkish nationals and refugees, but I would like to confirm how these rules apply to my circumstances. Could you please confirm whether, as a Turkish national with UK refugee status, I am eligible to apply for the Tax Specialist Programme? I would be grateful for your clarification before applications open. Kind regards Mustafa EROGLU
Thank you for your query.
Eligibility for Civil Service employment is determined in line with the Civil Service Nationality Rules and an individual's immigration status and right to work in the UK. As you have stated that you have been granted refugee status in the UK, you may be eligible to apply for the Tax Specialist Programme, subject to meeting all of the published eligibility requirements and the relevant nationality and right to work checks.
As we are unable to assess individual immigration or nationality circumstances through this forum, we recommend that you submit an application if you believe you meet the eligibility criteria. Any nationality and right to work requirements will be assessed as part of the recruitment process. If you require further clarification, please contact the recruitment team using the details provided in the advert. Applications will open on Friday 9th October.
