The Tax Specialist Programme is recruited for in a skills based way. It requires no particular degree, although does require a minimum degree attainment level. In the recruitment process there are a number of skills tests. You can be assured that if you pass these tests then you have the skills needed for TSP. Being a literature student does not put you at a disadvantage when you begin the course, as the formal learning programme on the TSP does not assume that you have any existing knowledge level in tax. You also will most likely find that being an English Literature graduate you already have the sort of skills needed to do the course/work for HMRC, for example the ability to write critically and persuasively and the ability to synthesise ideas and information effectively.
