Key Experience
I finished university with a First in Comparative Literature, but worked in finance at my time in university. This motivated me to consider working in areas outside of my degree, and I felt that I had the skills necessary to work in other fields, and so I applied for the Tax Specialist Programme at HMRC, and got in!
Current Position
I completed the TSP in January and have been a qualified Tax Specialist since. As a Tax Specialist at HMRC, I work with internal and external stakeholders to 'get tax right' for customers, whether through 1-2-1 work with customers or through working on projects around customer education and knowledge.
Main Motivation
Even after finishing the formal learning programme, the learning doesn't stop. Gaining experience in customer relationship management, enquiry working and new areas and applications of tax legislation and guidance continues to be enjoyable.
