The role of the Project Support Officer (PSO) covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the programmes objectives. The PSO enables the smooth running of the programme by supporting the programme/project manager and senior programme team through the effective operation of programme/project management processes, and the coordination of actions and activities on their behalf. As a member of the CCG Transformation Directorate (TD) you will be assigned to a specific project or programme within the TD portfolio.
Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
PLANNING & SCHEDULING Implement and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling. Supporting the team with quality assurance, including achievement and tracking of milestones.
MONITORING & REPORTING Establish and maintain project controls, keeping the project manager aware of the project status. Prepare project performance reports, presenting statistics and researching new information and preparing programme/project board packs. Scheduling programme/project boards and other meetings and production of relevant management information and minutes as required
ADMIN Ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Responsible for appropriate filing and structuring using robust version control. Keeping the programme/project generally well-organised and in good order with adherence to good programme/project management practices.
RESOURCES Assist in the monitoring and tracking of project/programme resources, providing information for effective decision making to the Project Manager. Procurement of supplies and services related to programme/project.
STAKEHOLDER Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some stakeholders. Draft and ensure correspondence has appropriate sign-off. Assist with maintenance of the stakeholder log for internal and external stakeholders.
FINANCIAL CONTROL Monitor project spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets and the development of the business case. Ensure an accurate asset register is maintained.
RISKS & ISSUES Manage potential risk areas, working with risk managers and escalating as appropriate. Assist and maintain risk and issue logs, action logs, change control, documentation and other logs requiring control.

Essential Criteria: (include any relevant qualifications)
Demonstrable experience of working in a busy project, programme or portfolio management office.
Excellent organisational and time management skills; able to bring about and maintain good order.
Able to consolidate information effectively using the Microsoft suite of tools including Excel, Powerpoint and represent visually in a meaningful and clear manner.
Able to communicate with transparency, integrity, brevity and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality.
Desirable Criteria: (if applicable)
Relevant professional qualifications such as MSP, APM, PRINCE2 A good awareness of Change Management principles Excellent written and drafting skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision
