The entry requirements for TSP are: Entry Requirements:

    • Degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent; existing civil servants can apply without a degree.
    • No prior tax knowledge required.

So you need a degree, unless you are already a civil servant.

But this position has closed for now ? When will. It re-open ?

Do you accept foreign degrees and if so, what would the process be as foreign degrees don't follow the same scoring process? I guess ENIC certificate is required right? Like for other civil service jobs

How can someone smash the recorded interview?

  • As long as the degrees are comparable to UK standards. if you have any queries about whether this is the case for the role you are applying for, you can email the vacancy holder.

  • Tax specialist programme opens once per year. however there are many compliance vacancies across the year, TSP is not the only avenue to becoming a tax specialist or a G7 within compliance.

Oh that's really interesting! Can you list other similar roles please?

  • There are many different branches of compliance, some are not just specifically compliance and branch into customs work also. HMRC is a huge organisation with many opportunities based on where your interests lie. Once you start you may feel your goals change, you can then see what other roles are available, building your knowledge base
