Talent Acquisition Partner

As a Talent Acquisition Partner working for our colleagues in the Ministry for Housing, Communities & local Government (MHCLG), you will be pivotal in identifying, attracting, and recruiting specialist talent to meet our dynamic hiring needs. This role is integral to building strong talent pipelines, ensuring seamless candidate experiences, and enabling MHCLG to deliver on its recruitment goals. You will take ownership of the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and selecting ideal candidates, to building strong and trusted stakeholder relationships and ensuring a successful candidate start and positive initial candidate experience upon joining.


This position requires an initiative-taking, adaptable individual with expertise in recruitment strategies, stakeholder management, and a commitment to delivering results. You will be joining a friendly, supportive, and fast paced team who work flexibly to recruit across a range of professions.


Job description

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Conduct thorough research on job roles, required capabilities, and market trends to develop tailored recruitment strategies.
  • Leverage advanced sourcing techniques, such as Boolean searches, to identify and engage passive candidates.
  • Use social media platforms, CV databases, and job boards to maintain a robust pipeline of qualified talent.


Candidate Engagement:

  • Craft detailed candidate profiles, highlighting essential qualifications, skills, and experience.
  • Conduct thorough candidate screenings, assessing backgrounds, experience, and salary expectations.
  • Ensure a seamless and professional experience for candidates throughout the recruitment journey.


Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their needs and priorities.
  • Provide consultative advice and regular updates on hiring progress and market insights.
  • Work with Vacancy Holders to Coordinate and manage interview and selection processes effectively.


Delivery Excellence:

  • Maintain MHCLG's employer brand through consistent communication and professionalism.
  • Analyse recruitment metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions.
  • Ensure hiring timelines and quality benchmarks are met or exceeded.


Recruitment Administration:

  • Utilise Office 365 tools to create and manage recruitment documents efficiently.
  • Monitor, track, and report on recruitment progress to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Resolve recruitment-related challenges by consulting guidance and proposing effective solutions.


Person specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven expertise in end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, assessing, and onboardingspecifically within the public sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of proactive sourcing tools and methodologies, including social media platforms and job boards.
  • Ability to analyse job descriptions and translate them into compelling candidate profiles.
  • Exceptional relationship management, consulting, and advisory skills.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to derive actionable insights from recruitment metrics.
  • Organisational skills to handle multiple roles and priorities effectively.
