To ensure that HMRC's customers receive clear, trustworthy information about the department and its campaigns across our digital estate.

To lead partnership working across our corporate GOV.UK, and wider digital media publishing functions in HMRC communications.

Lead and manage a busy publication function to deliver multi-channel content projects accurately, on time and to high editorial standards.

To support colleagues in seeing how everything fits together with regard to content projects, ensuring issues such as accessibility, usability, user journeys and analytics are part of decision making.

The successful candidate will:

Manage the GOV.UK publishing function for corporate HMRC content, which includes oversight and implementation of the 'second eye' quality assurance process

Advocate for and implement content design standards for HMRC corporate content, building capability and understanding across HMRC communications

Scope, deliver and maintain content to support and be the informed client for HMRC campaigns, including the design, creation, and management of government campaign pages

Oversee and support devolved GOV.UK publishing teams across HMRC

Establish and develop relationships with content design teams across the department and government, for example Government Digital service

Provide leadership and partnership expertise between GOV.UK content and social media content functions

Analyse content data to inform planning and evaluation of content and campaign activity

Work across the wider Press, Digital and External Affairs Communications Team, providing content expertise to support press and PR activity

Content planner ownership to ensure GOV.UK corporate content published on time, accurately and accessibly

Be lead / initial contact for all new content design requests

Maintenance and ownership of relevant elements of the Digital Communications quarterly springboard plan

Leadership and development of the GOV.UK content team

Design lead for campaign page creation and management

Lead contact for delivery high profile content publication event such as the Budget

Person specification

We are looking for someone with:

Demonstrable experience in leading content design projects and managing GOV.UK publishing, with expertise in writing clear, accessible digital content and implementing quality assurance processes.

Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across multiple teams.

In-depth knowledge of digital accessibility standards and content design good practice, including experience in training or mentoring others in these areas

Strong analytical capabilities with experience of using data insights and web analytics to improve content performance and inform strategic decisions.

A track record of successfully managing multiple digital communications projects simultaneously, including campaign page creation and delivery of time-sensitive content.

• Strong understanding of web analytical data and how to draw insight from it to make improvements to content
