About Faye M.

Key experience
From Marketing Graduate to Marketing Manager - Marketing is my thing!
My best career move to date was moving from the public sector to the civil service. I have had some fantastic opportunities in the private sector working for the likes of John Lewis and Capital FM, which are undoubtedly amazing brands. However through hard work and dedication, I have been able to take my marketing career to the next level in the civil service, by leading projects, studying for professional diplomas and integrating with a variety of different stakeholders. I look forward to seeing what the future brings!
Current position
Curating content to support HMRC's employer brand.
Support with the development and implementation of HMRC's Employer Brand proposition, have a strategic oversight of our recruitment marketing channels, including analytics and reporting. Develop content for channels to showcase our jobs, life at HMRC and key events and review the content calendar, creating a mechanism to assess effectiveness. Manage stakeholder relationships and look to create, maintain and grow these. Ensure content for recruitment marketing products are produced and updated regularly and manage a small team of advisors and support staff.
Main motivation
I am free to come up with new ideas and concepts...
As we are a growing team, there is so much to get stuck into and so much scope to grow our employer brand! This makes it a really exciting role, as I will be able to see first hand how the work we are doing is contributing to our overall objectives.
Top advice
Let yourself shine!
My best piece of advice is to get involved, speak out and make yourself known for all the right reasons! Ask as many questions as possible - there is no stupid question. If you don't ask - you don't get. I am also a firm believer of bringing your whole self to work, let your personality shine and be yourself.
Greatest achievement
Being a judge for the best dressed at Ladies Day, Aintree Races.
In one of my first marketing roles at John Lewis Liverpool, I was given an opportunity by Liverpool ONE to be on the judging panel to help judge the best dressed at Ladies Day, Aintree. This is a far cry from #LifeAtHMRC, however it provided me with so many amazing opportunities, including speaking on the radio, TV and in front of an entire room of racing journalists. It was amazing to represent the brand I was working for and something I was so proud to be involved in on behalf of my city! I have a real passion for fashion and retail, so it was a job I thoroughly enjoyed.
